Just reporting that the Greater Sand Plover stayed from the 21st Sept to the 24th and has not been seen since. The Sharp-tailed Sandpiper left the next day. The Oriental Plovers are still around but not always right at the ponds. When they are out among the scattered shrubs they are very difficult to spot even when in the open (just like Inland Dotterels) as they always seem to be standing still. Presumably they feed at night. Today there was a Whiskered Tern at the ponds as well as a couple of Major Mitchells. As I moved away there were a pair of Cinnamon Quail-thrushes busily feeding and a Bourkes parrot down on the ground also feeding.
