Hi Bob,I'm afraid the news isn't all that good for your target species. No
SCP's have been seen since last summer. Striated Grasswren numbers have
plummeted after 3-4 years of failing winter rains (this year is the 4th but
let's hope that rainfall totalling some 40 mm over recent weeks may be the
turning point!). There were two publicly accessible active malleefowl mounds
that have become inactive (but again, recent rain may reverse this). And
Black-eared Miner numbers have dropped by half since the '06 fires and
absence of good breeding... In past years you'd almost always come across  a
flock, often more, somewhere on the reserve, now it's a rare event to find a
flock.
