I would go for Scarlet HE Steve. The birds proportions indicate to me it is
too small for a Brown HE, but the pale half crescents above and below the
eye are the descriminator here, consistant with young Scarlet and not
present on juv Brown.

Hello all. Just while everyone's on a roll with the ID's, I have a young
honeyeater I'm not sure of at

would say Brown Honeyeater. Other candidates might be Scarlet or
Yellow-faced going on what's common in the area (Lake Samsonvale in
Brisbane). The bird was very small (about Scarlet size).
I would be grateful for any comments.
