Mr Moorhead, can you enlighten us - maybe. Cheers - Paul W.
"I just wanted to let everyone know of a development proposal in the
Bundaberg
council for an area adjoining Gengers road at Moore park. Local birders
know
this great location well and it is home to an amazing variety of birds
some
listed as vulnerable such as the Black breasted Button Quail. Coxen*s
Fig-Parrot (very endangered) has also been recorded in the area. Other
birds
found here include Superb Fruit-Dove, Barred Cuckoo-Shrike,
White-eared
Monarchs,Topknot Pigeons, Satin Flycatchers, Large-tailed Nightjars and
Rose-crowned Fruit-Doves,
It is hoped that with enough voicing of opinion to the council the
proposal
will be rejected.
Unfortunately there are some nearby landholders that hold aspirations
of
developing their land so one would hope that a rejection of the current
proposal would extinguish any further re-deveopment of this critical
area and
surrounds."
