Mike I was on top of the bird before it flushed-literally from under my feet. It basically disappeared, I was leading a group of walkers and it appeared to be normal size, long tailed coucal, nothing different about it and I didn't pay it any attention. It flew downhill, how far and where to, I don't know. Nothing about it attracted my attention.
