Went for a walk along the Bairne trail yesterday (it's in the Ku-ring-gai
Chase NP, Sydney, - about half way along the road leading to West Head on
RHS). It was a walk to look at and photograph the wild flowers which are
fantastic at this time of year. A warm day and few birds - fairy wrens and
New Holland HE's and the vegetation is mostly scrub and heath.

Nearing the end of the walk and back at the road, a low flying raptor
crossed the path and I managed a few shots but couldn't immediately ID the
bird. Looking at the photos today it appears to be a Square-tailed Kite. As
this is an endangered bird in NSW and uncommon elsewhere I was wondering if
any raptor experts out there could confirm the ID. I have posted a few shots
on the Picaasaweb link below and would appreciate any comments.
