Musk Lorikeets

Just thought it was worth noting that we have had a flock of Musk
lorikeets in our neighbourhood and garden for the past 2½ weeks.
This is our sixth year here (Pine Mountain, Qld - S27° 34' E152° 42'),
and we have only one other sighting in July 2007.

Atlas data does suggest that they are comparatively uncommon in SE
Queensland.
Can anyone suggest a reason for our good fortune?

Cheers
Peter
