For those that missed it over the last few days, all the Birdlines have been
made available as both RSS and Twitter feeds. Email me off-list if you want
more detail.

Now I have taken the birding-aus mailing list and made it available as a
blog, as an RSS feed and also as a Twitter feed. Following are the details.

The birding-aus blog is available at http://www.birdingaus.blogspot.com. A
blog is simply an online, electronic journal - you may be familiar with Tim
Dolby's blog at http://www.tim-dolby.blogspot.com. Since a mailing list is
somewhat like a journal, written by many different people, the blog format
is quite suitable. The advantage to this format is that it offers people a
way of reading birding-aus, even if they have no access to email at the
time. There is no facility for updating birding-aus from the blog at the
moment - it is for viewing only.

The birding-aus RSS feed is available at
http://birdingaus.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default. This feed can be
incorporated into an RSS viewer in the same manner as the Birdlines. Once
again, the RSS feed is view-only - there is no way to post back to
birding-aus from the RSS feed.

Finally, the username for the birding-aus Twitter feed is birdingaus (no
hyphen) and the URL is http://twitter.com/birdingaus. The Twitter feed
suffers the same problem as the Birdline feeds in that it can be delayed by
up to 30 minutes or so.

If you are interested, have a play with this technology. These feeds should
be considered experimental only.
