Hi all,

I have just got back from a couple of days birding at Wonboyn Lake on the
south coast of NSW. The highlights were a pair of Swift Parrots flying over
the house at 1705 on 31/08 heading to the south-west, and on 01/09 there
was a single adult Square-tailed Kite flying east to west at about 0800. The
sky was clear and bright with very little wind and the strongly coloured
bird looked superb as it glided across the house clearing at just above tree
height.

At 1650 on 31/08 a small flock of Glossy-black Cockatoos came in to drink at
a small pond near the local tennis court. Gang Gang and Yellow-tailed Black
Cockatoos were also common as were King Parrots, Crimson Rosella and Rainbow
Lorikeets.

In total I saw more than 50 species around the lake including Lyrebird,
White-headed Pigeon, Wonga Pigeon, Scarlet Robin, Flame Robin and the
resident pair of Sea Eagles.

 cheers

Jen
