Hi Colin,
No, definitely on high tide. I was blown away by the number of Lessers in
the flock. I had been focusing on waders and decided to check the terns and
realised the Lessers far outnumbered the regular Crested Terns. Peak of
tide was about 1.99m, which is quite high for the area. I'm sure the Red
Knot are passing through - I usually try and check about this time of year
as this is when they are most easily seen. No sand plovers yet, which I
guess is not unusual this early.
