Judith,
A few weeks ago, whilst tramping old stamping grounds, I specifically
went to Pinaroo Park in Noosa (a small municipal park just west of Noosa
Junction) with a local Glossy campaigner just before sunset to see a
group of Glossies that she said came into the lagoon to drink every
evening, which was early June. The park is on any current UBD map of the
area.
The best parking for Pinaroo Park is at the Noosa-Noosaville Road end,
but the Glossies came in to drink near the bridge over the lagoon
towards the southern end. We saw one family group feeding in the
casuarinas and and two pairs descending to the waters edge from
prominent tree lookouts.
A double check on the current position in the area could be through the
very active local Glossy Black Cockatoo conservancy group, who mark all
Glossy Black food trees in the Noosa/Sunshine Beach area. They could be
contacted through one of the following e-mail addresses.
Angus Innes.
