The ABC report on the eastern bristlebird followed my story on the subject
in The Australian:
http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25424003-30417,00.html.
It can be seen here that the axing of the captive breeding programs is a new
policy in Queensland not just for the bristlebird but for other endangered
species, including the bridled nail-tail wallaby. The debate about whether
these programs are doing the job is an important one to have.
