Hi Lawrie

Your comment is interesting. Here at Axedale, 20kms East of Bendigo, we
usually have Musks and Littles and occasionally Purple-crowned Lorikeets
here nearly all the time. Usually in smallish groups but several groups
around. Over the last month to six weeks I have seen none on our property
and only a few in the surrounding areas. You must have them all down
there!! We are getting some nice (very rare) rain right now, so maybe they
will come back!

Red-rumped Parrots & Rosellas are still around in usual numbers.

Subject: Musk Lorikeets - are there any left up north?

Is it just me, or are there really huge numbers of Musk Lorikeets in the

southern cities at the moment?

Around various parts of Melbourne I've come across lots of Musk Lorikeets in

the last month - outnumbering Rainbows in many places. I was in Adelaide

last week - hordes of them around Salisbury/Edinburgh in the north, and

closer to the centre. In Geelong (Vic) on the weekend, again hordes. I

noted on Birdline that there are some big groups being seen in Hobart (Tas)

too.

So - are there many left in the goldfields of central Victoria and further

north? Curious ....
