Butcherbirds v Quails

Hi birders

This morning in a fallow paddock I saw two Pied Butcherbirds hunting a flock of Brown Quails. They (PBs) perched in nearby trees and then one flew down to flutter vigorously just above the grass level (c 1m) and drop repeatedly into the grass until the Quail flushed. Then the chase was on. Both Butcherbirds pursued the fleeing Quail, but each time the Quail was able to drop almost vertically at full tilt into cover, leaving the PBs overrunning and having to try again. Saw this three times, (different Quail each time), a first for me.
Any similar experiences?

Cheers
Tony
