This report was released in March 2009 - see http://www.affashop.gov.au/product.asp?prodid=14247It appears that the seabird by catch improved from 0.042 birds per 1000 hooks in 2002 to 0.025 birds per 1000 hooks in 2007 I'm not sure how many fish are caught per 1000 hooks, but if 100 fish were caught per 1000 hooks, that would make the bycatch ratio of one bird to 4000 fish. =============================== www.birding-aus.org birding-aus.blogspot.comTo unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message: unsubscribe (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) to: =============================== |
