On the subject of buying 'scopes and binoculars, at the moment it is
worth shopping around locally, as there are some good deals to be had
by shopping around. Yesterday I bought a pair of Pentax 10x50 DCF ED
binos and a Pentax 7mm 'scope eyepiece. The price for the two ended up
a few dollars cheaper than the best price I could find on the net ex
USA. This is taking into account the all up cost, including the
retailers price, freight, customs fee, GST & shipping agents fees. On
top of that, I have an Australian warranty and a retailer who is happy
and who will look after me when I go back.
I have bough quite a bit of optical and photographic gear from OS via
the net, in the past, but I am finding that it is often not worth the
hassle of buying from the US.
I'm of to play with my new toys,
