The Lewin's Rail at Mt St Joseph pond in Altona hasn't been seen for well over a month, as far as I know, due to the water levels being either too high or too low during that time. I think the level is ok now, although I haven't looked since Thursday, but the result of the long dry period before the recent rain is that it has become ovegrown with grass, etc. If it does appear anywhere we used to see it, you'd be really hard pressed to see it.
