On behalf of the observers Jarrod Riley and David Kellett, Roger Potts has
presented to BARC a submission with photographs on a Chinese Pond Heron seen
at the Granites Gold Mine 20*32'16"S 130*19'5"E on 23 & 24 February 2009.
Not recorded in Australia until 2006 when found on Cocos (Keeling) Islands,
this species has now been recorded on Christmas Island, near Broome in WA
and now the NT. In the same period, the last three years, Australia has had
the first identified Javan Pond Herons, two records.
