Hi all
These birds seem to be everywhere across inner Sydney at the moment. Had
my first CBD sightings of this species on Mon evening 16 Mar as a flock
of 110+ birds appeared to try and roost in a Port Jackson Fig in Hyde
Park just across from the Australian Museum. The local Grey-headed
Flying Foxes put an end to their plans - the entire flock had just
gotten settled and begun quietening down when bats started wheeling into
the tree as they arrived from the Botanical Gardens, causing total
chaos. Within a few minutes the corellas took off and circled over Hyde
Park before disappearing down Elizabeth St towards Central Station. A
great sight and sound in the middle of the city.
