I heard a single double call at the weekend but there was no bird in sight when I got outside. Today at breakfast - several calls, and I got outside to see one in the sugar gum down the garden. Whereupon four flew out and down Darebin Creek, calling. They are not common summer visitors here, and I suspect they have been displaced by the recent fires.
