Male Koel with very unusual call Thursday morning last in Broadwater park
Runaway Bay. Very visible in sunlight. Quite a change to the usual call and
position.

I believe that the Green Rosella is also known as the Tasman Parrot...

Hi all
had a male Koel calling strongly from the big pine tree at the back of my
house in Turramurra (northern Sydney) about 7pm this evening. Must be about

going away time?

Also, today's Sydney Morning Herald carried an article (by John Huxley, who
I believe is a birder - link below) on the 2009 State of Australia's Birds
report - this referred to a "Tasman Parrot" - is that a Swift Parrot or
something else.?
