George,
There are some 80 species in the genus Zosterops in the world. Since the bird
is way out of range for AU Yellow White-eyes, I'd suggest to think about an
exotic escapee too.
Cheers,
Nikolas

Subject: Yellow-White-eye at Sawtell?
I photographed a bird which looks exactly like a Yellow White-eye (confirmed by
second opinion) on the morning of 22 Feb at Sawtell NSW while photographing
Yellow Thornbills. The location was within 100m of the lower car park of
Boambee Lookout on the footpath to the top car park, on the right (south) side
of the path. Unfortunately I haven't yet the know-how to share the photo via
a link but I can send it via e-mail attachment. Since the location is a long
way outside the range for Yellow White-eyes, could it be anything else? Could
it be an escapee? Are Yellow White-eyes kept as cage birds?
