Hi all, Adrian Boyle just rang to report that he is currently watching a single Nest Swiftlet (Aerodramus spp.) hawking over low trees adjacent to the Broome Sewage Works (NW WA), whilst a Franklins Gull is visible on one of the ponds inside the fence. Yesterday on dusk he had two Nest Swiftlets at the same site. This follows on from a Nest Swiftlet reported by George Swann in Broome a little under a month ago. Conditions in Broome at present are relatively calm with high cloud so the birds may be hanging around.
