Pity the video didn't show the Woodpeckers storing the acorns; they
would have been so angry to lose their cache.
A more natural storage method for Acorn Woodpeckers is an Acorn
Woodpecker Tree. I have seen one of these in California; it's an oak
tree drilled full of holes, the whole the truck is covered in holes,
and in each an acorn is carefully inserted. Obviously they're wedged
so nothing else can pull the out, and only an Acorn Woodpecker can,
later, drill the end off the acorn and extract the kernel. I imagine a
single bird or a pair guards the tree through the winter.
