I've not had any response to yesterday's enquiry about the rumour that Rockingham City Council removed a sand spit a few days ago at Point Peron boat ramp, about 45 km south of Perth. There were between 25-30 pairs of Fairy Terns nesting on this spit just before Christmas, but I don't know if they still were at the time of the sand excavation. Does any WA birding-ausser know anything about it? I'd really like to hear more details.
