Kingfishers

Look like Collared to me Roy.
Darker green/black head rather than Blue/black.
Larger white spot in front of eye and obviously massive bill.
All white without any traces of buff and greener wings etc plus definite "collar".

Will you be contacting the photographer? If yes perhaps post to the list so that he doesn't get hundreds of people telling him he's wrong :)

Was trawling through an excellent website from UK of a recent trip to Australia. Can members give their thoughts on the two slides taken at Cairns Esplanade labelled Forest Kingfisher. I know their are several races but are these not pics
of a Collared? Would be interested on some local/expert opinions.
