G'day Birders, I had a work trip out to Parkes central NSW in the last week of December. The highlight of the trip was the morning drive out to my work site to the north west of town. Along a 13 km stretch of Bogan Rd I saw Eastern Rosella, Galah, Red Rumped Parrot, Cockatiel, Superb Parrot ( 2 groups 8 individuals) and Blue Bonnet. These birds all seemed to be feeding on spilt grain on the road side, the risk that Terry Bishop mentioned earlier was obvious.

It was good to see such a large number of parrots in one area.

Hopefully this information will be useful to any birders heading out to Parkes for the Elvis festival. Hubba hubba.

Cheers
Graham Turner
