While at Mitchell Park (60 kms NW of Sydney CBD ) on Monday , I heard what I thought was a Bower Bird hissing. It turned out to be a GST with food in its mouth. As we looked it flew low along a narrow path obviously doing its equivalent of a broken wing trick - continuing to hiss . I've never seen a Grey Shrike Thrush do this before. Also this morning at Middle Creek ( Narrabeen Lake )( 30 kms N of Sydney CBD. The Red-chested Button Quail was still present as was a Black Bittern in the same spot.
