Subject: Frilled Monarch
I enjoyed the Torres Strait trip reports from Richard Baxter- I
suppose no-one got any photos of the potential Pinon Imperial-Pigeon?
One omission I noted is the lack of Frilled Monarchs from Boigu, the
only place in Australia where this species occurs ( I regard the
Cape York ones as a distinct species, Frill-necked Monarch, with
very distinctive female plumage and different vocals).
Did you try for the Frilled Monarch, or is is it rare there?
Thanks
Phil Gregory
