camped at Hugh River on road to Glen Helen and there were many birds. Highlights were square tailed kite sailing over the treetops and two major mitchells looking resplendent in the early morning light with their crests up and their soft pink underwings. Mulga parrots plentiful which is quite unusual and of course budgies and rufous songlarks now. Near Amata(in north west SA near NT border) last week many birds after rain but most interestingly many pied honeyeaters engaging in flight display and a pair of white fronted honeyeaters. white fronted are unussual birds for here. Crimson chats, brown songlarks adn rufous songlarks in abundance.
