Hi Michael,

I was in Tumut in March 2007, and it was very dry. I assume things have changed
a bit since then. On the north side of town, on Gocup road, there are the
sewage treatment works/settling ponds - around there was the best birding I
found, but that's probably because of conditions and being permanent water.
Nothing too interesting or unusual was found there, which was a shame as it was
wandering around Tumut as a kid 20ish years ago that got me interested in birds
in the first place - hence the nostalgia visit on the way to Wagga for uni.

I'd be interested in any other information on spots as I'll be passing down
that way again in April next year.

Cheers
Troy

---------------

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be spending a few days in Tumut early in January (most
probably at the caravan park) and am hoping to sneak away and do a bit
of birding in the mornings. I'll be car-less, so any information on
local hotspots would be much appreciated.

Ta,

Michael
