WELL SAID, Colin...!!!
I cannot believe that any birdwatcher would not get a great deal of pleasure, in fact, "a Twitch", from finding/seeing a new bird.....however much they are 'normal' birders from day to day - as are most of us. Doesn't mean you don't get a kick out of seeing something special in "old birds", be it feeding. breeding, interacting, preening (like 2 Scarlet H-E's the other day -- phew!) or, whatever.
