Perhaps we should redefine our lists to only allow species seen while
walking, running or cycling. If that's the case I might be replacing
Mike Carter, Dools, and others in the "700 Club"
with my own "100 Club" for people who have seen 100 species in
Australia while staying at home or travelling by human power.
Oh, hang on, maybe my bike list doesn't count after all ... I drove in
a car to collect my bike from the shop!

PS I'm still counting the Painted Snipe though because I saw it on the
way home from work - even if Edithvale is a small detour between Kew
and Geelong

Is it really carbon-emission friendly? I did see a fairly largish
group
of persons on Bribie Island competing in the Armchair Twitch, all of
whom would have driven to that spot and back, probably covering a
combined mileage similar to that covered by one car competing in the
traditional style Queensland twitch.
