Hi everyone

THere will be a segment on the Channel 10 News tonight (Thu 30/10) or tomorrow night about the dredging of Port Philip. It includes footage filmed by an independent underwater film maker and I'm told it will provide some evidence on how the dredging has affected this marine environment.

It's an issue relevant to Birding-Aus because of the potential impact on the St Kilda penguins. This is only a small colony for much of the year, but it is joined in winter by adult birds from the huge Philip Island colonies. Much of the dredging was carried out in winter.

It's also an issue for us all because of the importance of our marine environments.
