I understand the confusion between Pyampa and Onepah and whether birders are
allowed or not. There has been a lot of discussion on this issue on the
list, not all of it coherent.

But here is my suggestion. Go to the Coopers Creek crossing as defined
27°30'3.64"S 141°55'56.68"E. Here is a spot where you can find the grasswren
without upsetting the locals. There is an ok bush camping spot and an
abundance of other avian goodies. Biggest plus (though not all will see it
as such) is that is bitumen all the way (or at least most).
