The GME MT 400 is a 406 Emergency Position Indicator Radio Beacon
(EPIRB) and sells for around $400. It is the least expensive 406 EPIRB
that I know of and although designed primarily for marine applications
is very adequate for travelling. It transmits your position via
satellite including your registration details (MMSI Number) and also
incorporates an emergency strobe light, is lightweight and compact.
Forms are included for free registration with Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).
