Lee Halasz and I had a great morning out in the Lockyer Valley (SE Qld) today (Sunday). There is plenty of water around - and loads of waterbirds. In addition to the solo Freckled Duck on the island at Apex Lakes, we found 5 more Freckled Ducks on Lake Atkinson (out in the middle of the lake with the large flock of Hardheads). Counted 21 Banded Lapwings in one paddock along Banool Rd. Also a Black-necked Stork at Lake Clarendon.
