Anyone thinking of looking for the Freckled Duck at Lake Apex might like to know that for the last week or so it mostly hasn't been visible from the hide. It has moved its favoured location just a few metres and is now round the point of the island, out of view of the hide. However, if you go halfway along the causeway between the two lakes (Apex and Freeman) you can get good views of the bird from there. It was still present on Tuesday, 30 September.
