G'day,
It is not necessary to extrapolate a 15 times increase for the eagle in 1million years as the Little Eagle may have been getting smaller at the same time. The common ancestor may also have been of variable size with bigger individuals in the cooler south, Bergman's Principle. I had a biologist once tell me that this was a load of rubbish but did not provide contray evidence when given the chance. Any takers from this group?
