At 4:30 in the am I heard the 1st Koel of spring for me somewhere in the vicinity of Virginia Park on the Northside of Brisbane. Also heard and saw my 1st Tawny Frogmouth in the backyard since last summer three nights ago. Even though there's a mini winter rerun going on spring has certainly sprung.
