We have tried using a friend's Epson scanner which has a mount on which you can load 12 slides (in their mounts) There were an awful lot of scanning options which took a while to experiment with, and we found that using built-in dust removal was exceptionally slow. It took about 5 minutes for 12 slides at a reasonable resolution (compromise between time, resolution and file size) We found that the slides all needed editing in Photoshop as the images looked odd - rather dark and probably oversaturated. A bit of twiddling with levels would normally do the trick and sharpening often worked well. But they rarely had the quality of a good digital pic. Altogether quite time consuming - OK if you are retired! Rosemary Wales, UK |
