I've seen the question asked a few times and I think it is very hard - I
believe that most birds suffer a very high mortality in their first year or
two but if they get past that they can live to a reasonable age (depending
on the species of course). So the average life expectancy is probably very
low (else we would be inundated with birds!) but the likely age for mature
birds will be totally different.
