First lifer for me in my local patch. I hadn't been down to Virginia Park, on
Downfall Creek behind my block for a while and I thought I'd see if I could add
something to my park list (Sitting at a healthy 59 after today). Never thought
I'd get a lifer though. The BB flushed and I got reasonable views but being
unfamiliar I thought it may have been a particularly dark Striated Heron. Found
it again and got good views as it crept along the creek banks but my fumbling
with the camera caused it to flush again and it was immediately set upon by a
flock of noisy miners and a magpie. It settled again in some ten foot Guinea
Grass and I thought it best to leave it be. Just stoked to see such a bird in
my suburban patch.

Cheers Tony
