Sadly my profession keeps me in the city much of the time.
This morning, in Berry Street North Sydney, it was a bit of a cold wind tunnel,
and at this time of year there are just bare Plane Trees on the kerb between
the multi story office blocks. I noticed however that a pair of Currawongs had
just about completed their nest out over the traffic just north of number 65!
Why there when there are parks not too far away and it will be many months
before the green of spring hides the nest?
Maybe there's a steady supply of lunch scraps - or they fancy a drop at the
"Rag and Famish" on the corner.
I shall just hope they dont develop the anti social habits of the pair that
attempted to nest in Pitt Street in the CBD of Sydney near Australia Square a
season or so ago and terrorised many a pedestrian! They and their nest quietly
disappeared.
