It would definitely be possible. Most likely candidate would be Yellow-nosed 
Albatross (race bassi or Indian Yellow-nosed Albatross, depending on whose 
taxonomy you follow) as they're generally the commonest albatross off the west 
coast.

Shy Albatross & Black-browed Albatross would probably be the next most likely 
possibilities.

Subject: Albatross off Canal Rocks - SW W.A.

Was at Canal Rocks near Cape Naturaliste on the 9th.  Saw 2 gannets and one far 
off bird that looked very much like an albatross, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a 
gannet.

Would an albatross in this area be a possibility?  And are there any species it 
is more likely to be?
