Are you suggesting that the bands might cause them to become trapped and
die or lose their legs, or that the bright colours might make them
easier to be seen by raptors?  Trevor did say they were bands, not tags,
so surely they'd be impossible to see from above.

I've never seen a band on a bush bird, so to see that many someone must
have been hard at work in that area.
