Better a falcon than a dinosaur at 390kph !! -----Original Message----- From: On Behalf Of Kurtis Lindsay Sent: Wednesday, June 18, 2008 10:04 AM To: Birding Aus Subject: Peregrines Hi all, It may not be the worlds most gruesome killer (seeing it doesn't actually decapitate its prey with 'clenched fists' as previously reported). But at speeds of up to 390 km/h, clearly the Peregrine Falcon reamins the fastest animal and perhaps fastest organism on earth. It is amazing how birds have come all this way as a result of adaptive radiation from dinosaurs. Kurtis Lindsay |
