Normally I agree too! In this case I didn't look Enoggera up when it was first
posted - perhaps I had Enoggera confused with Ettamogerah or some other place a
long way away from me that I had no chance of getting near. But here I sit in
Brisbane airport. about to board my plane home (after having spent a long
weekend here for a wedding and managing to get two mornings of birdwatching
in), feeling a little shattered to learn where Enoggera actually is!

No criticism John, I completely understand your excitement and probably would
have posted in the same way myself, it's a terrific find, congratulations!

Jill

I agree John ! This happens to me on a weekly (sometimes daily basis). i.e.=
not knowing where some reported sighting is. It normally only takes a minu=
te or 2 on google maps to find it. That said, I think a standard approach o=
f: 'location, nearest major town, state' approach is a very good idea. Some=
times when I check things out and they are in Victoria or WA and therefore =
are a bit too far from Brissie for me - it would have saved me a minute of =
two of my life!Rob Morris Brisbane, Australia > From: >=

on that one nikolas but theirs no need to get emotional. My humble apologi=
es to the birding aus community for not telling you that the Enoggera dam i=
s in Brisbane Queensland. I tend to get a little excited sometimes as these=
birds were a very welcome tick! I guess if bad temper and all else fails t=
here is such a thing as the internet. Happy birding...........John Hammond =
