Bustards and Sarus crane near Atherton

Unfortunately I didn't see David and Margaret Merrall's posting about the
Bustards until after I returned but yesterday, just north of the junction of
the Gillies Highway and Marks Lane, near Atherton there were 100+ Sarus cranes
feeding in a ploughed field. A beautiful sight. When I asked the farmer for
permission to enter an adjacent field to look at the cranes they didn't
understand why there was construction equipment in their field!
