Petter Mangove robins were present at the end of the Cairns airport boardwalk, Southern end, about two weeks ago. You can also sometimes see them very early morning if you walk into the mangroves at the North end of the Esplanade. In the abscence of a tape try making a whistle a bit like blowing across the top of an emtpy beer bottle. Good luck and don't forget the Aeroguard. Last Saturday a Lesser Sooty-Owl was perched on a reflector pole beside the road at the top of the Gillies highway between Gordonvale & Atherton around Midnight. I have seen them here a few times before but you have to go very late when the traffic has died down. In the abscence of a tape try making a whistle like a bomb falling!
